SaldoKit

Bookkeeping on autopilot for Stripe.

SaldoKit reads a period of Stripe charges and produces balanced vouchers for your accounting program, plus the EU OSS VAT figures ready to file. It has not launched yet.

Where it posts

Vouchers go straight into Fortnox, Bokio, or Spiris (Visma eEkonomi). If you keep your books somewhere else, SaldoKit exports a SIE-4 file, which every Swedish accounting program reads.

How a period is processed

  • Imports the charges for a filing period, either straight from the Stripe API or from a one-off CSV export
  • Works out where each customer was, reading billing country, card country, shipping country, and metadata such as ip_country
  • Applies the EU VAT rate that was correct on the date of the sale, not the rate that happens to be current
  • Reverse-charges cross-border sales to a customer with a VIES-validated EU VAT number, and leaves them out of OSS
  • Holds anything ambiguous in a manual-review lane instead of guessing

By default two identifiers have to agree before VAT is calculated at all. It is a deliberately cautious rule: an entry SaldoKit is unsure about is worth more to you sitting in review than posted wrongly and discovered at the audit.

Who it is for

Swedish businesses that take payments through Stripe, particularly the ones selling digital goods or services to consumers elsewhere in the EU. That is where the OSS return stops being a formality and starts costing an evening every quarter.

SaldoKit came out of a problem we ran into ourselves, which is generally how the next thing gets picked.

Status

SaldoKit is still in development. Leave your email on the site and we will write to you when it launches — that is the only thing the list is used for.
